SAN ANGELO, Texas —
A free genealogy fair at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Community Room of Stephens Central Library, 33 W. Beauregard Ave., will include 45 exhibits featuring historical and genealogical organizations and enthusiasts.
The San Angelo Genealogical and Historical Society will give door prizes including subscriptions to Ancestry.com and Fold3.com, a membership to SAGHS and half-off coupons for workshops and classes.
Attendees can learn about advances in using DNA in genealogy, and SAGHS genealogists will help budding family historians get started on their family trees. The library will host an exhibit featuring the free research tools it offers genealogists, while the West Texas Collection will have information about its genealogy library and historical collections.
Local historical and biographical authors such as Ross McSwain, Barbara Barton, Jerry Lackey, Ginny Noelke will sign books.
